Dokhi ("the App", "we", "us") is a mobile application for learning Mongolian Sign Language. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the App:

  • Account information — When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider to create and identify your account. If you continue as a Guest, we create an anonymous account that is not linked to your name or email.
  • Learning progress — lesson completion, exercise attempts, XP, hearts, and daily streaks, so we can save your progress across sessions and devices.
  • Hand-sign practice data — During certain exercises you may use your device camera to practice signs. The camera image is processed on your device to estimate the position of your hand. Only abstract numeric hand-landmark coordinates (a set of numbers describing the hand pose — not photos or video) are sent to and stored on our servers to check your sign and improve recognition.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and the App does not include third-party advertising or analytics tracking SDKs.

Camera and Photos

  • Camera — used only during hand-sign practice exercises, and only while that exercise screen is open. Hand detection runs locally on your device; we do not record, store, or transmit camera images or video.
  • Photo library — if you choose a profile picture, the App accesses your photo library so you can select an image. Your profile picture is stored only on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and your learning experience.
  • Save and synchronize your progress across sessions and devices.
  • Check your hand-sign attempts and improve recognition accuracy.
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • Respond to support requests you send us.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only:

  • With service providers that host and operate the App on our behalf (for example, our database and server hosting providers), and only to the extent needed to run the service.
  • With sign-in providers — when you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, your interaction with them is governed by their own privacy policies.
  • When required by law.

The hand-detection model used by the camera feature is downloaded from a third-party content delivery network so it can run on your device; no personal data is sent to that provider.

Data Retention

We keep your account information, progress, and hand-sign practice data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and any credentials are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access or update your account information from within the App.
  • Use the App as a Guest without providing your name or email.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
  • Contact us with any privacy questions or requests.

Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be released with a new version of the App.
